On the 19th of June 2024, the "Sustainable Building" lecture series organised by the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects and the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam will focus on the topics of green surfaces, roofs and façades and will present innovative solutions for cooling urban spaces.

On the 4th of May 2024, the Potsdam Science Day took place on the Telegrafenberg in the Albert Einstein Science Park. Over 30 universities, schools and research institutions from Brandenburg presented their work.

ISI2023 provided a stimulating platform for dialogue on current developments and challenges in information sciences. The discussions and presentations reflected the broad spectrum of topics and the need for a comprehensive examination of these issues for the further development of the discipline.

BiblioCon, one of Germany's largest professional events for the library sector, took place in Hamburg this year under the title 112th BiblioCon2024 "open.local.global". The Department of Information Science of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam was also well represented at BiblioCon.

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Honorary Professor Dr. Gabriele Beger, who was appointed the first female honorary professor in the degree programme Library Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in May 2005. On the 6th of June 2024, the joint exhibition "Drängende Gegenwart – Fotografie als Forschungsinstrument" and "Drängende Gegenwart – textiles in transit" opened at the local office Luckenwalde. It can be viewed there until the 27th of June.
