Family Affairs Commissioner
The central family affairs commissioner and the decentralised family affairs commissioners in the departments are the first point of contact for university staff with questions about family and compatibility.
Function & Tasks
At the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, there is a central family affairs commissioner and the decentral family affairs commissioners for the individual departments.
New decentralised family commissioners were appointed in October 2020 to ensure effective cooperation between the family team (FAMteam) and the departments and to provide basic insights into the various degree programmes. With the help of the decentralised family commissioners, the cooperation between the department of student affairs and the degree programmes and departments in the area of student student counselling is to be improved and, with the involvement of the officers, further developed into a holistic counselling service with referral structures.
Tasks of the family affairs commissioner
- First point of contact for family-related questions of employees and students at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.
- Information about existing counselling and support services
Tasks of the decentralised family affairs commissioner
- Coordination of examination modalities
- Drawing up individual study plans for students with family responsibilities
- Applying for compensation for disadvantages in exchange with the central family commissioner
