Instructions

For printing, FHP Druck Service is selected as the printer (on some PCs also QPilot). However, before a print job is actually sent, the login details of the campus account must be entered into the GUI of the Q-Pilot client. The print job sent from a PC can be retrieved with the campus card on any of the multifunction printers installed on campus. In addition, the devices have a copy and scan function, and some also have stapling and hole-punching functionalities.

Staff members who wish to print at the expense of a cost centre must explicitly select the option Print on duty in the card terminal, as the value of the copies will otherwise be deducted from the private credit.

On the QPilot platform you can view your scans and print jobs as well as a list of your transactions. Under the menu item mobilePrint you can also send simple print jobs (A4 black and white) by uploading the document to be printed as a PDF file. Use the login data of your campus account here as well.

Costs

The costs are settled by debiting the credit on the campus card.

Scanning is free of charge

For technical reasons, it is necessary to have a minimum credit of 72 cents on the card for each transaction, even if it is not used (does not apply to on-duty printing).

For reasons of saving resources, it is requested to print documents in black and white mode if possible and to use the "EcoPrint" mode if necessary (saves toner, but leads to a loss of quality).

Two steps are necessary for installation on the Mac. First, the printer driver of the multifunction devices is installed. Then the Q-Pilot client for print job management is set up.

Preparation: Unzip the MAC zip archive. The folder contents must not be changed.

Install the printer driver:

Open the file UTAX OS X 10.6+ Web build 2017.01.30.dmg by double clicking on it. A window with four files opens.
There (also by double-clicking) execute the file UTAX OS X 10.6+ Web build 2017.01.30.pkg. Follow the installation procedure.
Install the Q-Pilot client to manage print jobs: Double-click QPilotClient[...].app in the MAC folder. Follow the installation procedure. In rare cases you will be asked to enter the address of a configuration file. The file you are looking for is FHP_MAC.qpilot-profile, which is located in the same folder as the installation files. Enter the absolute path of this file in the Local file field, e.g. /Users/macAccountname/Downloads/MAC/FHP_MAC.qpilot-profile (if the unzipped folder is in the Downloads folder).
