New seminars on occupational health management and generation management in social organisations
The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is expanding its continuing education programme and is now introducing two new seminars designed specifically for professionals in social institutions. The seminars were developed under the direction of Prof. Dr. Birgit Wiese and are dedicated to the central topics of occupational health management and generation management in a practical way.
The seminar "Occupational Health Management" provides a comprehensive overview of the basics and the importance of this management approach, which is becoming increasingly important in view of the growing shortage of skilled labour and scarce resources in social institutions.
Working conditions in social work have changed for the worse due to demographic change, a shortage of skilled labour and cost-cutting measures. Occupational health management is therefore crucial in order to maintain the health and ability to work of employees The seminar sheds light on the importance, methods and players involved in occupational health management as well as the role of health insurance companies and state funding. One focus is on the right to health in the workplace according to WHO guidelines.
The aim is to provide participants with the tools they need to implement effective health management in their organisation.
The second seminar, "Generation management in social organisations", focuses on the challenges and opportunities arising from the changing values between different generations in the working environment.
Demographic change poses major challenges for both companies and social work organisations. As baby boomers retire, Generation X and Y are taking over the leadership roles. Generation Z brings new values to the world of work, some of which differ greatly from their predecessors. Cross-generational collaboration is therefore essential in order to manage conflicts, utilise shared strengths and provide clients with the best possible support.
Participants learn to recognise lines of conflict and use the special skills of the different age groups for productive collaboration.
Both compact seminars are aimed at professionals who want to expand their knowledge in these areas and learn specific approaches for their day-to-day work. Interested parties can register via the Centre for Further and Continuing Education at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.
