Student Repro Centre – Plotter Room
Since 2002, the Student Repro Centre has been the central point of contact for students of the Department of CITY | BUILDING | CULTURE for printed matter that exceeds DIN A3. However, we are also available to all other members of the university. For large format printing and brochure binding, you've come to the right place. The volunteer members of the plotter team will be happy to help you realise your projects cost-effectively.

FAQ
Line or area – Which is it?
Photos, perspectives and coloured areas require a lot of toner, while texts and CAD drawings are displayed as lines. In cases of doubt, you can send a screenshot of the motif by e-mail and the appropriate category will be decided.
Is it possible to use the plotter spontaneously?
No. Due to the complexity and billing, the plotters are only operated by our trained employees. Please make an appointment in advance by e-mail.
Is it possible to print borderless?
The plotter has a print margin of approx. 3 mm. Borderless plans are still possible. To do this, please set a crop marker in the layout programme (e.g. Adobe InDesign), which will enlarge the format by a few centimetres and make cutting easier for us.
Which file formats are accepted?
PDF is accepted as a file format. If you have several sheets of the same format, please merge them into one PDF.
Is it possible to make acetonisations with printouts from the plotter?
No, the plotter is based on inkjet technology, acetonising (rubbing) only works with laser printing.
How exactly do the printouts correspond to the ordered dimensions?
For plans with a lot of white space around the edges, we reduce the printout by a few millimetres for automatic crop marks. To prevent this, crop marks can be added. We then deliver the exact format ordered.
Can I bring my own paper?
Yes, we can also print single sheets up to 900 mm (shorter edge). In this case, an approx. 3 cm wide strip remains unprinted on the shorter edge. However, we still have to charge the full price (normal paper) due to the additional work involved.
