Press release
Germany Scholarships awarded to 45 Students
In the 2022/23 funding period, 45 out of 127 applicants were awarded a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship. The outstanding students receive 300 euros per month for one year. Since the start of the programme, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, together with many partners and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), has been able to support a large number of scholarship holders with a total of 1,125,900 euros.
Performance, talent and special commitment take centre stage: good grades and academic achievements count just as much as the willingness to take on responsibility or successfully overcoming obstacles in one's own life and educational path.
President Prof. Dr. Eva Schmitt-Rodermund: "The Deutschlandstipendium has supported many FHP students to date and this year we are once again delighted with the large number of excellent applicants. I would like to thank our sponsors, who make an extraordinary contribution to young people. By providing financial support, our scholarship holders can concentrate on their studies, further develop their potential and make initial contacts for their professional careers. A Deutschlandstipendium in combination with sponsoring companies, individual supporters and talented and committed students is an important building block for the future."
The grant is paid independently of income and parents and is granted in addition to BAföG benefits for at least two semesters, at most until the end of the standard period of study and does not have to be repaid. The Deutschlandstipendium is funded in equal parts by private donors, committed companies and the federal government: 150 euros come from the private sector and 150 euros from the public sector.
A selection committee of the university management, the faculties and the student body decides on the funding.
