1990 – 1994: Doctoral studies in Göttingen
1994: Doctorate; dissertation topic: "The residence of the Archbishops of Magdeburg in Halle in the first half of the 16th century"
1994 – 1996: Archival traineeship at the Brandenburg State Archives and at the Marburg School of Archives
1996 – 2005: Head of department at the Brandenburg Main State Archives, specialising in the following areas Use, training, legal and fundamental issues
2005 – 2015: Head of the State Centre for Archives and Public Libraries at the Brandenburg State Main Archive
