Knowledge Management – Utilising and Developing Knowledge effectively

Knowledge management encompasses the systematic control of all activities related to the creation, use and further development of knowledge in an organisation. The aim is to make optimum use of existing knowledge in order to achieve organisational goals.

In today's knowledge society, knowledge is the most important raw material for the success of organisations. Whether companies, non-profit organisations, associations or social enterprises – they all need to manage their knowledge effectively. This means developing new knowledge, securing and sharing knowledge that is critical to success, as well as using and developing it efficiently in order to remain competitive.

Content:

  • Introduction to the basics of knowledge management (followed by a Q&A session)
  • Development of proposed solutions for a customer task:
    • Input from research and company practice (state of the art)
    • Joint development of a problem statement
    • Work in small groups to develop proposed solutions
    • Presentation of the proposed solutions

Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Peter Heisig

The in-house training course will be led by Prof. Dr. Peter Heisig, an internationally renowned expert who will convey the content in a practical and understandable way.

Prof. Dr. Peter Heisig is Professor of Information and Knowledge Management at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. With over 30 years of experience in the fields of knowledge management, organisational and work design, process optimisation and the development of IT systems in various industries, he has extensive know-how.

Prof. Dr. Heisig has received several awards, including being named one of the top 50 most influential people in the field of Tacit Knowledge Management in Davos (2023). He is the author of numerous specialist publications and books on knowledge management, a keynote speaker at international conferences and a founding member of the Global Knowledge Research Network.

A selection of the organisations with which Prof. Dr. Heisig has worked successfully includes well-known companies such as Airbus, Bosch, Deutsche Telekom, Henkel, Rolls-Royce, Unilever and Volkswagen as well as institutions such as the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and NATO.

Further information

The in-house training courses are individually adapted to the needs of your organisation/company. After the basics have been taught, a specific task from the organisation is worked on. The interactive development of solution ideas takes place in small groups or with all participants, depending on customer requirements. The lecturer pursues a problem-oriented learning approach and prepares customised input with practical examples.
