Together with the State Working Group of Family Associations of Brandenburg (LAGF), an empirical study was conducted to investigate how parents perceived their family situation during the pandemic-related restrictions and demands. The project was funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Integration and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg (MSGIV). The focus of the online survey was to record and analyse the subjective experiences of

  1. the subjective experience of families, especially with regard to the reconciliation of work and family life under the changed conditions of the Corona pandemic, which have led to new challenges and problems in the areas of childcare and school, but also economically,
  2. existing or potential social resources for dealing with the Corona pandemic, and
  3. the identification of significant protective factors for family coping capacities.

The study was primarily interested in the changes in everyday family life associated with the closure of childcare and leisure facilities, the relocation of parental jobs to home offices and the homeschooling situation.

The results of the parent survey, in which over 1600 Brandenburgers took part, are now available on the LAGF website.
