FHP Science Podcast "HILFE TRAUMA!" launched – in-depth Knowledge for Specialists

How can professionals provide the best possible support for traumatised children and young people? The new science podcast "HILFE TRAUMA!" provides practical and well-founded knowledge from research and everyday educational practice. Developed by experts in trauma education, the format is aimed specifically at social workers, educators and other professionals who work with young people under high stress in their day-to-day work.
"HILFE TRAUMA!" is a podcast produced at the FHP and dedicated to the current topic of trauma education. The format was conceived by Prof Dr Alexandra Schmidt-Wenzel, Birgit Bucher and Dr Bettina Kupfer. The idea arose from their joint work as part of the "Trauma Pedagogy" training programme at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam' Centre for Further and Continuing Education. The podcast highlights current findings, challenges and solutions - practical, well-founded and with a lot of heart.
The podcast offers in-depth discussions with experts from science and practice who deal with the support of traumatised children and adolescents. The questions discussed include: What impact does trauma have on the lives of young people? How can professionals create a stable and safe environment? And what institutional framework conditions are necessary to enable trauma-sensitive behaviour?
You can find out how it all began and what background the experts have in the first podcast episode.
The second episode is dedicated to the topic of "Trauma pedagogy in practice" and highlights key challenges such as self-reflection, institutional structures and dealing with boundaries. The guest is Prof Dr David Zimmermann, Professor of Pedagogy for Psychosocial Disabilities at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
The show notes for each episode also contain further links and references to the content.
