Retrospective

The Distance Learning Programme Archive and DDM presented themselves at ARCHIVISTICA and the German Archive Day in Bielefeld

Over 100 table discussions and consultations were held over the three days, which led to follow-up enquiries from the specialist community within a very short space of time.

The team from the Distance Learning Programme Archive was once again present at this year's Archivistica. The Distance Learning Programme Archive and the Centre for Further and Continuing Education at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam were on site with their unique educational programme in Germany to present the four part-time and professional further education courses for prospective archivists.

The coherence of the four qualification programmes with the need for skilled workers was particularly well received. There were many stimulating and exciting discussions at the stand with the professors and staff of the FHP.

The ARCHIVISTICA trade fair took place in conjunction with the German Archives Day. ARCHIVISTICA has been firmly established as the largest European trade fair for archives for many years and arouses the interest of exhibiting companies from Germany and abroad as well as trade fair visitors every year.

As the most important industry gathering for archivists, documentarians, registrars and conservators, companies from the fields of office technology, IT, microfilming, digitisation, shelf construction and restoration/conservation present their products and innovations to the professional audience.

The FHP thus stands for a large part of archival training in Germany and also radiates into the DACH region and beyond.
