In the 2024/25 funding period, Germany Scholarships were awarded to 29 outstanding students from a large number of applicants. The students receive 300 euros per month for one year. Since the start of the programme, Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, in cooperation with numerous partners and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), has provided the considerable total funding amount of 1,264,500 euros.

The Deutschlandstipendium focuses on performance, talent and social commitment: in addition to good grades and academic success, social commitment and overcoming personal or academic challenges are also recognised in particular.
President Prof. Dr Eva Schmitt-Rodermund: "The Deutschlandstipendium enables our students to focus on their academic and personal development without having to worry about financial hurdles. I would like to thank this year's and especially our long-standing sponsors, who not only pave the way for individual educational paths, but also sustainably strengthen the future of our society. With their generous support, they send a clear message of appreciation and trust to our students and encourage their courage to go their own way. Together, we are setting an important example for the promotion of young talent and investing in the potential and diversity of the next generation."
The Deutschlandstipendium is paid regardless of parental income and in addition to BAföG. It is granted for at least two semesters, but no longer than the end of the standard period of study, and does not have to be repaid. Funding is provided in equal parts by private supporters, committed companies and the federal government: 150 euros come from private funding and a further 150 euros are contributed by the public sector.
