Members of the FH Potsdam Supporters’ Association brew the first university beer on campus.

Under the guidance of hobby brewer Niclas Seeliger, a beer brewing workshop was held for club members on Saturday, the 17th of August 2024. The venue for the beer production was "Das Blinde Huhn" in front of Haus 17.

Malt, hops, yeast and water – a beer only needs four basic ingredients. But to ensure that it tastes good in the end, the recipe steps must be followed precisely. The exact temperature plays just as important a role as the right equipment and the skills of an experienced hobby brewer.

In the early evening, after almost seven hours, the brewing team is finished – at least for the time being. Because in order for the wort to become a drinkable beer, it still needs to be stored in a cool place and then bottled until the fermentation process is complete after several weeks.

The participants are now particularly looking forward to the first tasting at the upcoming Black White Dinner on the 17th of October 2024. The dinner will take place after the annual general meeting and is exclusively for association members.
