European Restoration Day – Experience Art up close through the Eyes of Restorers
Under the motto "Cultural Heritage in Climate Change", the degree programme Conservation and Restauration at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is celebrating the 5th European Day of Conservation on the 16th of October. Works of art will be presented in the mobile Tiny House FHP Mobil in front of the Computer Centre Potsdam.
On Restoration Day, experts across Europe provide insights into their working world, which is otherwise mostly hidden from view. Students and lecturers from the FH Potsdam will be offering the rare opportunity to view art up close in the FHP Mobil at the computer centre from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, taking visitors on a journey from the macrocosm to the microcosm. Among other things, details of the famous glass mosaics "Man conquers the cosmos" by the artist Fritz Eisel will be shown, various materials will be examined under the microscope and conservation options will be discussed. Visitors will have the opportunity to find out more about the degree programme and get to know the exciting field of work of conservators.
When: 16th of October 2022, 10.00 am – 4.00 pm
Where: Breite Straße (in front of the computer centre), Potsdam
