In the 2023/24 funding period, 25 out of 78 applicants were awarded a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship. The outstanding students receive 300 euros per month for one year. Since the start of the programme, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, together with many partners and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), has been able to support a large number of scholarship holders with a total of 1,215,900 euros.

Performance, talent and special commitment take centre stage: good grades and academic achievements count just as much as the willingness to take on responsibility or successfully overcoming obstacles in one's own life and educational path.

President Prof. Dr. Eva Schmitt-Rodermund: "The Deutschlandstipendium paves the way for the professional future of our students, who can concentrate fully on learning and research thanks to the scholarship. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, students can organise their educational journey free from financial worries. However, we not only appreciate the financial support, but also the message behind it: together we are investing in the future of Germany. I am particularly pleased that a graduate of our university is one of this year's sponsors. This shows that our alumni understand the importance of education and the value of a Deutschlandstipendium and are actively involved in supporting the next generation. We are very grateful for the valuable and new partnerships and sponsorships that have been established."

The grant is paid independently of income and parents and is granted in addition to BAföG benefits for at least two semesters, at most until the end of the standard period of study and does not have to be repaid. The Deutschlandstipendium is funded in equal parts by private donors, committed companies and the federal government: 150 euros come from the private sector and 150 euros from the public sector.
