Innovative Conclusion to the Cooperation with Radio Teddy
The FLEX elective course "Innovation Management: Development of knowledge-intensive business ideas" took place for the first time in collaboration with Radio Teddy. Students were able to gain important insights for the realistic and creative development of viable ideas.
The FLEX elective course "Innovation management: Developing knowledge-intensive business ideas" started for the first time in the winter semester 2024/25. Lecturer Enrico Sass was able to gain Radio Teddy as a cooperation partner for this interdisciplinary topic. During the semester, the students explored the question of what a family radio station of the future could look like. Based on interviews with the relevant target groups and the Radio Teddy presenters, models for a family radio station of the future were developed.
In the spirit of the interdisciplinary FLEX programme, students from three different subject areas formed teams within the course that focused on different topics such as child-friendly advertising, possible AI radio formats and promoting social engagement.
The students presented their results in final pitches, which were held at the radio station on the 13th of January 2025. It became clear that the family radio of the future could be a mix of traditional radio and customisable streaming content: AI-supported personalisation was the central approach in most pitches in order to meet the needs of all family members. Interactive tools and voice control should make everyday family life easier. However, the accessible, human moderators continue to create closeness and trust. The students were also able to make recommendations on possible financing models and a higher social media reach and spoke out in favour of gender-neutral, value-oriented and transparent advertising that is not consumer-oriented.
