Online Career Talk with Lighting Designer Prof. Volker von Kardorff
Invitation to an open exchange between students and the architect Prof. Volker von Kardorff on career prospects as an (independent) lighting designer. There is also the opportunity for one-to-one meetings, which can be booked by e-mail.
The architect Volker von Kardorff has been an honorary professor at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in the field of lighting design since 2011. After studying architecture and postgraduate studies in lighting, he initially worked as a project manager and later as a member of the management team at the Bartenbach lighting design office in Innsbruck and its branch in Berlin. Just a few years later, he founded his own planning office for lighting design. In 2013, he received the German Lighting Design Award for his achievement as Lighting Designer of the Year.
In the Career Talk, he will talk about the professional perspective of a lighting designer and why his greatest motivation is to increase the success of a building or an outdoor space with light – with quality, the highest standards and a deep understanding of the users. During his presentation, there will be enough time for an open discussion and individual questions. Afterwards, he will offer one-to-one meetings lasting around 15 minutes to discuss career planning in greater depth. The number of one-to-one meetings is limited. Interested parties should book their appointment by e-mail: 360gradzukunft@fh-potsdam.de.
The event is a free offer of the career entry programme Work@Heart and is conducted with Zoom. Registration via e-mail to 360gradzukunft@fh-potsdam.de. The link will be sent after successful registration.
