Dr. Gabriela Michelini on her first job as a translator and her work at the FHP
Name / Birthday / Place of birth
Gabriela Michelini, *1984 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Title / Function / Department
Knowledge management in the "SmartUpLab" project at the Institute for Applied Research Urban Future.
I earned my first money as a
translator of abstracts. My first job as a student was to help researchers prepare the first English drafts of their abstracts from Spanish.
I chose the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam because
I am enthusiastic about the practical orientation and the transdisciplinary approach of the FHP and because all the people I have met so far are incredibly talented and great.
What my students will appreciate about me is that
I try to make the classroom a warm and relaxing environment where we can learn together from real-life applications.
I forget the time when
I learn about interesting topics and concepts.
What drives me mad
nothing.
My greatest success was
having the opportunity to research, learn and teach in different countries/continents and to work in teams with people from different backgrounds, native languages and disciplines.
