Application Deadline for the Master of Arts at the Department of Design at the FH Potsdam is running

The two-semester Master's programme at the Department of Design offers graduates the opportunity to deepen their scientific and design skills following a first degree or after a period of employment. The programme offers specialisations in interface, communication and product design.

At the centre of the Master's degree programme is the extensive design project of the Master's thesis in terms of content and design. The Master's thesis is supervised by two professors and accompanied by accompanying seminars and courses in accordance with the principles of 'research-based learning'. In addition, research projects and development projects in cooperation with industry and institutes enable students to participate significantly in design development processes and to contribute to them as part of their Master's thesis.

Admission requirements are a completed university degree in a design-oriented degree programme and successful participation in the aptitude test in the form of a digital presentation of the proposed topic (proposal) for the Master's project and the digital presentation of a portfolio. A letter of motivation including a CV is also required for registration. The proposal can be a topic of your own choice or be based on a project topic or research project specified by the Department of Design. Examples of current topics can be found here.

Registration for the aptitude test (online) is possible until the 15^th of December. The presentations for the aptitude test will take place after the first pre-selection by invitation on Friday, the 31^st of January 2025 and will be held online via Zoom conference.

From winter semester 2025, we will be expanding our Master's programme and offering English-language study tracks and, in addition, a double degree study track together with the National Taipei University of Technology in Taiwan. Registration for the aptitude test will be possible from the 1^st of May to the 15^th of June 2025 for admission in the winter semester 2025/26. Further information will follow in March 2025 on the department's website.
