Lutz Engelke, born in Dinslaken, studied literature, psychology, journalism and film studies at the FU Berlin and was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to Cornell University in the USA. After working as a press spokesman for the Berlin Senate, he founded the creative agency TRIAD Berlin in 1994. With offices in Berlin and Shanghai, he pools the technical and creative expertise of 200 people with 47 professions, opening up new territory worldwide at the interface between science, culture and business. He calls his company a Think & Do Tank.
With TRIAD Berlin, Lutz Engelke designs and realises award-winning theme and experience worlds, expo pavilions, exhibitions and museums, brand presentations, corporate worlds and events. As overall artistic director, he was instrumental in the success of the Chinese themed pavilion "Urban Planet" at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, which attracted 8.2 million visitors. Other selected projects include the German Football Museum in Dortmund, the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich and its exhibition for the 2018 World Cup in Moscow, the anniversary gala celebrating 100 years of UFA in Berlin's Palais am Funkturm, the Siemens exhibition stand at the Hannover Messe and the twelve international "Future Energy Forum" conferences for Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Lutz Engelke is co-founder of the CREATE BERLIN initiative and the consultancy DIE DENKBANK. He is also a member of the Art Director's Club Germany (ADC) and the SME Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
