Doctorate Day 2024 – Doing a doctorate at a university of applied sciences

Doctorates at universities of applied scienes are usually carried out in co-operation with a first supervising university and the research topics are strongly application-oriented – often in collaboration with practice partners. In recent years, however, there has been a trend for universities of applied scienes to advocate an independent right to award doctorates. 
This merger requires an intensive exchange between all stakeholders of the four universities of applied scienes in Brandenburg and a low-threshold exchange between the doctoral candidates of the different institutions. In addition, challenges, questions and experiences arise during every doctorate that you would like to share with like-minded people. 
This is exactly where the first PhD Day of the four Brandenburg universities of applied scienes comes in, which is planned as an annual event in the future. The day is intended to give those interested in doing a doctorate and doctoral candidates the opportunity to exchange ideas and network on specialised and interdisciplinary topics.
